  13. Introduction:

  16.          Below is what I have been using for quite a long time now
  17.          to stretch the reception range of my scanners on the 
  18.          cordless phone/baby monitor frequency ranges. Using this
  19.          antenna, I have been able to receive about 10-15 more
  20.          cordless phones than with my discone or telescoping 
  21.          antenna.  I hope you will find this useful!  Remember,
  22.          that stupid E.C.P.A. does not apply for these devices!

  25. Required Materials:
  26. -------------------

  28.          Coaxial cable - 50 Ohms - length variable depending on usage
  29.          Connector (to match your scanner)
  30.          Wire - Any kind, 30 feet or so

  33. Instructions:
  34. -------------

  36.          1. Attach connector to one end of the cable.
  37.          2. On the other end, strip off outside covering (about 1.5
  38.             inches). Twist braiding together.
  39.          3. Strip about .5 inches from center conductor.
  40.          4. Connect 10 feet of wire to the center conductor. Soldering
  41.             is the most preferred way to go here! If not, then tape
  42.             it up with electrical tape.
  43.          5. Connect 15-30 feet of wire to the braid. Solder this also.
  44.          6. Tape (or use some type of sealant) on the connection area
  45.             at the tip of the cable.
  46.          7. Finished, now hang it somewhere. Best results are obtained
  47.             by stretching it end to end as high as possible, but 
  48.             in front of a window produces good results. Draping it
  49.             out the window is even better. Just try to keep the two   
  50.             wires from running next to each other, this degrades 
  51.             A.G.TENNA performance slightly.
